Russian attacks on railways in Lutsk and Fastiv
В Україні тривають інтенсивні удари дронів по важливих залізничних шляхах, зокрема у Луцьку та Фастові.

Rail Infrastructure Under Fire

According to Рубрика — Суспільство: On September 12, Russian forces launched attacks on key railway facilities in Lutsk, located in the Volyn region, and in Fastiv, near Kyiv. Thanks to timely evacuation measures, no casualties were reported among passengers. Throughout the day, drone assaults continued, with the head of the Volyn regional military administration reporting a concentrated drone offensive aimed at the area.

Heightened Security Concerns

Alexander Koval, the governor of Rivne region, reported that a gas station was also targeted in a morning strike. He urged residents to remain vigilant and avoid locations that could be at risk, including fueling stations. Due to intensified Russian attacks on railway infrastructure and rolling stock in the Sumy region, train services have been temporarily limited to the Konotop station. Passengers traveling from Sumy are advised to use bus transfers to reach their destinations.

Ukrzaliznytsia, Ukraine’s state railway company, issued warnings about potential schedule disruptions.

“The attacks persist, with multiple drone swarms in the sky. We are operating with utmost caution and attention. Schedule adjustments may occur to ensure everyone’s safety,” the company stated. The situation remains highly volatile as emergency services work around the clock to protect passengers and critical infrastructure.

These ongoing attacks highlight the persistent threat posed by Russian strikes against Ukraine’s civilian infrastructure, severely impacting everyday life. In response, Ukrainian authorities continue to implement protective measures for the population and transport networks, emphasizing the importance of public adherence to safety protocols. The regions affected are under constant strain, demanding coordinated efforts by all services to safeguard civilians.

As the situation escalates, the impact on transportation networks is becoming increasingly evident. In particular, passengers in the Sumy region are facing significant disruptions, with temporary adjustments to train routes necessitating bus transfers to Konotop. This highlights the broader challenges posed by ongoing Russian assaults on critical infrastructure across Ukraine.
