Mall in Kryvyi Rih Hit Twice by Russian Drones; Rescuers Targeted in Second Wave, Five Killed
Kryvyi Rih Mall Struck Twice by Drones
According to ХВИЛЯ: A shopping center in Kryvyi Rih became the target of a Russian drone attack that killed five people and left at least 52 wounded, including six children. The assault was carried out in two separate waves. The first drone hit the mall directly; about half an hour later, while emergency crews were battling the resulting fire, another strike was aimed at the rescuers.
"The Russians delivered an absolutely cynical and vile blow against an ordinary shopping center in Kryvyi Rih," President Volodymyr Zelensky said as he commented on the attack's aftermath.
Zelensky stressed that "the attack drones worked in two waves: thirty minutes after the first impact and fire, a second strike hit the rescue services." He expressed condolences to the families of the victims and confirmed the toll: five dead and 52 injured, among them six children. "All the wounded are receiving the necessary medical care," he added.
Local Officials Respond and International Concern Grows
Oleksandr Vilkul, head of Kryvyi Rih's Defense Council, said Russian forces used Shahed drones flying at extremely low altitudes. Fires broke out inside the shopping center, and hostile drones continued to menace the city. Zelensky described the attack as "simply an act of terror" and urged the world to answer it with "real pressure on the aggressor."
