Russians are mass complaining about salary delays: employer debts have tripled

Russians' complaints about salary delays
Працівники в Росії все частіше скаржаться на затримки зарплат: борги роботодавців зросли втричі.

Systemic tension in the Russian economy

According to ХВИЛЯ: As of early December 2025, there is systemic tension in the economy of Russia, manifested in the growing number of complaints about labor rights violations. The number of citizens' appeals regarding salary delays has significantly increased, exceeding 70 thousand. This is one and a half times more than last year, indicating a worsening situation in the labor market.

Main problems

The largest increase in complaints has been about salary delays, with over 26 thousand cases recorded. This figure has risen by 60% compared to last year. By the end of October 2025, the total debts for salary payments reached 2.2 billion rubles, which is a serious signal for the economy. Debts have increased by almost 11% in a month, and compared to the same period in 2024, the figure has tripled.

At the same time, the share of the military-industrial complex (MIC) in the new gross domestic product (GDP) has almost tripled compared to last year. However, despite this, corporate profits for the first three quarters of 2025 have decreased by 7.7%. Also, as of December 1, 2025, the amount of unpaid installments for new buildings reached 1.5 trillion rubles, accounting for 17% of signed contracts. This data indicates serious challenges facing the country's economy.

The increase in the number of complaints about salary delays and the growth of debts indicate deeper problems in the Russian economy that may affect socio-economic stability. The increase in the MIC's share in GDP may indicate state policy priorities, but the decrease in corporate profits and high debts point to prolonged economic difficulties. These factors may lead to social tension that requires urgent resolution by the government.
