Frontline Developments in Donetsk

According to Главком: Russian troops have made gains near the settlements of Kostiantynivka and Zatyshok in Donetsk Oblast, according to analysts at DeepState. The General Staff of Ukraine reports 29 assaults in the Kostiantynivka sector and 38 in the Pokrovsk sector over the past day. On July 9, a total of 233 combat engagements were recorded across the front line. Since the start of the full-scale invasion, Russian military losses have reached approximately 1,414,820 personnel.

Battle Details and Tactical Shifts

In the Kostiantynivka direction, assault operations were concentrated around Kostiantynivka, Illinivka, Ivanopillia, as well as toward Stepanivka and Oleksandro-Shultyne. An updated interactive battlefield map from DeepState reflects these territorial changes. Notably, in June, occupying forces achieved tactical advances near Kostiantynivka. By late June, Ukraine’s Commander-in-Chief Oleksandr Syrskyi reported that the number of active Russian offensive axes had dropped from 13 to 7.

The Pokrovsk sector saw the highest volume of assault activity on the front, with 38 attacks recorded. Ukrainian forces repelled these strikes in the areas of Pokrovsk, Toretsk, Bilytske, and other nearby settlements. According to official data, 54 Russian soldiers were killed and 11 wounded in a single day. One vehicle and a motorcycle were destroyed, while specialized equipment and 22 troop shelters were damaged.

Overall, the operational situation on the front remains tense. The enemy launched 57 airstrikes using 167 guided aerial bombs, deployed 6,282 FPV drones, and conducted 2,239 artillery bombardments against Ukrainian positions and populated areas. Over the past 24 hours, 1,310 Russian troops were eliminated. This brings the total estimated Russian personnel losses since the start of the full-scale war to roughly 1,414,820.

'The map has been updated. The enemy advanced near Kostiantynivka and Zatyshok,' stated DeepState analysts.

Key frontline events indicate that active combat operations continue across Donetsk, particularly in the Kostiantynivka and Pokrovsk sectors. The rising number of assaults suggests Russian forces are seeking to strengthen their foothold in these areas, which could have broader implications for the overall battlefield situation. At the same time, Ukrainian troops are effectively repelling these offensives, demonstrating their readiness to hold the line. These developments underscore the need for constant monitoring to assess how the conflict may evolve in the coming weeks.

In light of the recent developments in the Kostiantynivka sector, it's important to note that Ukrainian forces have been actively countering assaults in the nearby Pokrovsk area. Over the past 24 hours, they successfully repelled 41 attacks, highlighting the ongoing intensity of the conflict.
