Attack on Kherson

According to Главком: In the early hours of June 3, 2024, Russian forces targeted the Dnipro district of Kherson with combat drones and artillery fire. The assault resulted in the death of an 86-year-old woman and injuries to six civilians. According to Oleksandr Prokudin, head of the Kherson Regional Military Administration, the wounded include men aged 43, 50, 73, 75, and 77, as well as a 73-year-old woman. This region has faced repeated attacks since the start of the conflict, with residential areas often bearing the brunt of the violence.

Earlier, on May 27, 2024, the Korabelny district of Kherson came under fire from multiple rocket launchers. That strike proved fatal for one man. A children's playground was hit during the attack, leaving a three-year-old girl and her mother with severe injuries. The child is currently in extremely critical condition at a hospital in Mykolaiv, with plans to transfer her to the Okhmatdyt hospital in Kyiv for further treatment.

The severe injuries, particularly among children and the elderly, underscore the humanitarian crisis resulting from the hostilities. Local authorities and medical facilities are striving to provide aid to the victims, but the situation remains critical, demanding urgent action from both the state and international organizations.

The recent escalation of violence in Kherson is further evidenced by the fact that over 30 settlements were struck by Russian shelling in a single day. This intensifying conflict not only exacerbates the humanitarian crisis but also highlights the urgent need for comprehensive support for affected civilians.
