According to ХВИЛЯ: In the early hours of October 25, a Russian strike targeted the international checkpoint of Starokozache on the Moldova-Ukraine border, resulting in two fatalities and injuring three others. Emergency responders evacuated 16 people, and operations at the crossing have been suspended. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky shared details of the incident on his Facebook page.

Later that morning, a Russian drone struck a residential high-rise in Kyiv, injuring four civilians. The attack sparked a fire in the capital, which was quickly extinguished. Officials are currently assessing the damage from these nighttime assaults across six Ukrainian regions: Dnipro, Mykolaiv, Zaporizhzhia, Kharkiv, Zhytomyr, and Kyiv regions.

President Zelensky’s Response and Global Reactions

“Unfortunately, the international community’s response to these daily strikes costing civilian lives is insufficient,” Zelensky stated.

Expressing condolences to the victims’ families, Zelensky emphasized the urgent need to halt the aggression immediately to prevent further escalation:

“This aggression must be stopped here and now to stop its spread.”

He called for stronger enforcement of sanctions and continued international support for Ukraine, thanking partners assisting the country during this crisis. Previous reports have documented ballistic missile and Shahed drone attacks on Kyiv, as well as an assault on the Orlivka ferry checkpoint along the Romanian border.
