Two Ukrposhta Workers Dead in Pavlohrad After Russian 'Banderol' Attack

According to Рубрика — Суспільство: On Thursday, August 6, a Russian drone-missile called 'Banderol' hit Ukrposhta's sorting depot in Pavlohrad. Two female employees lost their lives - both named Olya. A mechanic was also wounded in the attack, but his injuries are not considered life-threatening. The blast destroyed the depot and the city's staging point for Ukrposhta's mobile branch offices, which served Pavlohrad and nearby villages.

Ukrposhta CEO Ihor Smilyanskyi reported the attack on Telegram, writing:

"This is a hard day for the Ukrposhta family. In Pavlohrad, a Russian 'Banderol' destroyed our sorting depot and the base for mobile branches. The most painful part is that the strike took the lives of two employees: Olya and Olya." - Ihor Smilyanskyi

He stressed that the company will not stop: "The enemy wanted to stop our work here, but we will not let that happen. All backup arrangements are already in place."

Backup Logistics Activated

In response, Ukrposhta has switched to backup logistics. Pensions, medications, parcels, and letters will still be delivered according to schedule, though delays are possible over the coming days. Customers will be compensated for destroyed shipments. On the same day, the broader attack on Pavlohrad killed one person and wounded four others, and warehouses belonging to logistics companies and a store also caught fire.

This strike is another reminder of how the ongoing war in Ukraine directly affects civilian infrastructure. It also shows the risks faced by ordinary workers who continue their duties in a conflict zone.
