Russian Forces Launch Airstrike on Sloviansk and Yasnohirka, Wounding Nine Civilians
Airstrikes Target Sloviansk and Yasnohirka
According to Рубрика — Суспільство: On October 11, 2026, Russian military forces carried out an air assault on Sloviansk, deploying three FAB-250 aerial bombs. The attack occurred at 9:45 AM within a densely populated residential area, resulting in injuries to seven civilians. Among the wounded were five women aged 28, 52, 53, 72, and 76, along with two men aged 25 and 80. The victims sustained closed traumatic brain injuries, concussions, lacerations, and bruises.
In addition to the strike on Sloviansk, Russian troops also targeted the village of Yasnohirka in the Kramatorsk community. Two civilians-a 55-year-old woman and a 60-year-old man-were injured by mine-explosive trauma and shrapnel wounds. The airstrikes caused partial destruction and damage to nine apartment buildings and a local shop in Sloviansk’s impact zones.
Investigation and Evacuation Measures
Preliminary investigations into these incidents as potential war crimes have been initiated by the district prosecutor’s offices in Sloviansk and Kramatorsk under Article 438, Part 1 of the Ukrainian Criminal Code.
“On October 11, 2026, at 09:45, occupying forces struck Sloviansk with three FAB-250 bombs from aircraft,” stated the Donetsk Regional Prosecutor’s Office. “The explosions occurred in a densely populated residential area.”
Authorities in Donetsk region have also expanded the mandatory evacuation zone for children from specific parts of Kramatorsk, now including 130 streets and various city sites. Evacuations will be conducted with the accompaniment of parents or legal guardians.
This attack highlights the ongoing risks faced by civilians in eastern Ukraine and the difficulties local officials encounter in ensuring public safety. The broadened evacuation zones reflect the severity of the security situation and efforts to protect vulnerable populations. Continued war crimes investigations may provide grounds for future legal proceedings and increased international pressure on the aggressor.
The recent airstrikes in Sloviansk are part of a troubling pattern of escalating violence in the region. Just days earlier, a similar attack involving FPV drones targeted ambulances and residential areas in Kramatorsk, resulting in casualties and injuries.
