According to Главком: On May 19, Russian forces launched attacks on Kharkiv and its suburbs, resulting in widespread destruction and casualties. In the village of Pokotylivka, within the Kharkiv district, a 69-year-old woman was killed by a drone strike. Additionally, three people-including one child-sustained injuries.

In Kharkiv’s Novobavarskyi district, the assault destroyed a residential building and sparked a fire covering 150 square meters. Rescue crews managed to extinguish the blaze, but three more individuals are believed to have been harmed. Teams from the State Emergency Service of Ukraine (SES) remain on site, working to clear debris and manage the aftermath. Sappers, canine units, and psychologists are also present.

On-the-Ground Situation

According to reports, two strikes hit the Novobavarskyi district, while an initial attack was recorded in the Kholodnohirskyi district. In total, the damage includes:

  • 25 private homes;
  • one apartment building;
  • several passenger cars.

Meanwhile, on the night of May 19, southern districts of Odesa Oblast also came under attack, though most targets were intercepted by air defense systems.

Kharkiv Mayor Ihor Terekhov confirmed the attack’s severe toll, including fatalities and major structural damage, stressing the critical role of rapid emergency response amid the crisis.
