The strike targeted a crowded crossroads near a post office and shops, and many more were wounded, according to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in a Facebook post. The attack was part of a wider wave of Russian strikes across Ukraine.

Zelensky said the area hit was surrounded by residential buildings. Emergency and operational teams were dispatched to the scene, and firefighters extinguished a blaze. He vowed that Ukraine would retaliate for the attack.
