The dissolved marriage of Oleksiy and Anastasia Arestovych
According to glavcom.ua: Today, the capital's court decided to dissolve the marriage between the former advisor of the President's Office Oleksiy Arestovych and his wife Anastasia. The court's decision was based on the wife's request, who noted that the marriage had been formal and they had not shared a common life.
Oleksiy Arestovych did not oppose the divorce and agreed with the court's decision. The court acknowledged that the conditions created by the parties had led to the marriage becoming practically impossible, and further family life was unfeasible.
On May 1, 2025, the president implemented a decision of the National Security and Defense Council, under which Oleksiy Arestovych was subjected to sanctions in Ukraine. He faced 21 types of sanctions until May 2035.
This is not the first case of divorce in the country, and the number of divorces has increased. In just six months of 2025, Ukrainians have dissolved over 38,000 marriages in courts. Dnipropetrovsk region leads in the number of divorces, while Kyiv and Odesa regions take second and third place in the percentage of dissolved marriages.
Ukrainians are increasingly deciding to dissolve marriages that have almost no shared life, and it becomes clear that this also applies to the couple Oleksiy and Anastasia Arestovych. The court's decision reflected a pragmatic approach to such situations, where formally established relationships no longer carry any meaning.
