Ukraine Creates Barrier-Free Cities: How Chernivtsi, Vinnytsia, and Slavutych Are Changing
According to Міністерство інфраструктури: In the pilot communities of the 'Movement Without Barriers' project, active work is underway to create accessible spaces that should be convenient for all residents. Each city is progressing at its own pace, but the goal is common - to make urban environments accessible to all.
In Chernivtsi, at the intersection of Ruska and Baturynska streets, a major renovation of the children's playground is ongoing within the framework of the 'Movement Without Barriers' project. The updated space will receive modern equipment, safe surfaces, and barrier-free entrances so all children can use it.
In Vinnytsia, the formation of the first comprehensive barrier-free route continues, where an electric lift with a foldable platform is already being installed for ease of movement in the multi-storey building.
In Slavutych, the modernization of the Cinema and Concert Complex has begun, equipping it with convenient ramps, new stairs, a modern entrance group, and a modern elevator to ensure accessibility for all residents.
In various cities of Ukraine, work is ongoing to create barrier-free conditions for all residents. It is important for everyone to have access to public spaces, regardless of their physical abilities. The 'Movement Without Barriers' project helps make our cities more inclusive and friendly to all citizens.
