NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte issued a serious warning regarding potential cooperation between Russia and China in future conflicts. In an interview with the American publication The New York Times, he emphasized that Beijing could use Moscow to divert Western attention from the situation in the Asia-Pacific region, particularly in the event of a possible takeover of Taiwan.

Rutte warned of the need to protect U.S. interests in Asia, as Western security is closely tied to European security. He stressed that cooperation between Russia and China could have serious consequences for global security.

'If Xi Jinping were to invade Taiwan, he would first call his junior partner in all of this, Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin, who lives in Moscow, and say to him: 'Hey, I'm about to do this, and I need you to occupy them in Europe by attacking NATO territory,''

- Rutte is quoted as saying.

Containing Russia and China through cooperation with the Indo-Pacific region

The NATO Secretary General emphasized the importance of making any aggression against NATO risky for the Kremlin and noted that cooperation with the Indo-Pacific region could help contain Russia and China. Rutte called for preventing potential conflict through joint actions with Eastern partners.
