SAP contests the closure of the case regarding a 50 thousand dollar bribe: another case of Lozovoy's amendments

According to САП: The Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office plans to contest the decision of the Appellate Chamber of the VAKS regarding the closure of the case concerning a bribe of 50 thousand US dollars. Earlier, a former investigator managed to evade responsibility for receiving unlawful benefits. The prosecutors intend to cancel this decision in cassation proceedings, as they believe that Lozovoy's amendments allow for the closure of corruption cases without consequences.

The Prosecutor's Office believes that closing the case due to the expiration of the investigation period circumvents the law and harms the fight against corruption in Ukraine. They urge the Verkhovna Rada to abolish the possibility of closing proceedings through this mechanism to ensure justice and adherence to the law in the judicial system.
