Служба безпеки України закликала громадян бути обережними через можливі обстріли та терористичні акти під час святкових заходів до Дня незалежності.

Call from the Security Service of Ukraine

According to ХВИЛЯ: The Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) urged citizens not to neglect safety issues ahead of Independence Day. In its appeal, published three days before the holiday, the agency warned that the enemy may use mass events to carry out shelling, provocations, terrorist acts, diversions, cyberattacks, and other crimes. The SBU emphasized that in the conditions of full-scale war, it is important to adhere to certain safety rules.

Main recommendations from the SBU

Among the main recommendations from the agency are not to ignore air raid signals and to determine the nearest shelter in advance. Citizens are also prohibited from approaching suspicious objects, moving them independently, or checking them. In case of detecting suspicious objects, individuals, or signs of illegal activities, it is necessary to immediately notify law enforcement.

The SBU also drew attention to the importance of caution on social networks.

"Do not publish photos and videos indicating the locations of military personnel, critical infrastructure, checkpoints, air defense systems, etc.,” the agency noted.

They urged not to spread information about the consequences of shelling, the work of air defense, and the movement of Ukrainian troops.

Moreover, the SBU warned about attempts by Russian intelligence agencies to involve Ukrainians in preparing terrorist acts and diversions.

"If unknown individuals offer money for arson, property damage, placement of unknown items, gathering information about military facilities, or other illegal activities – do not agree to such proposals and immediately report it to the SBU,” the service emphasized.

For feedback, the SBU provides the following contacts:

Earlier, a day of mourning was declared in Kyiv after the massive attack on August 21, and a law on the protection of sacred places related to President Zelensky's decree was prepared before Independence Day. Citizens must be vigilant and adhere to the SBU's recommendations to ensure their own security and the security of the country.

The SBU's call concerns not only personal safety but also the overall security of national territory in conditions of war. Before holiday events, when citizens may be most vulnerable, it is important to follow these recommendations, as it can significantly reduce risks and prevent possible terrorist acts. The public's response to such warnings is critically important for maintaining stability in the country.
