Ukraine’s Security Service Unveils Advanced Interceptor Drone to Counter Shahed Rocket Drones

According to ХВИЛЯ: The Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) has engineered a new interceptor drone designed specifically to combat the threat posed by Shahed rocket drones. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky announced this breakthrough on his Telegram channel following a briefing from SBU chief Oleksandr Poklad. According to the president, the interceptor drone has already been deployed successfully in combat situations.

The SBU highlights that this is the first effective drone capable of intercepting Shahed-style rocket drones. Oleksandr Poklad, who has served as acting head of the SBU since July 2026, previously led the agency’s counterintelligence department until 2023.
