Ukraine's SBU Strikes Three Strategic Russian Targets: Oil, Gas, and FSB Intelligence Hub
SBU Operation on Russian Soil
According to ХВИЛЯ: Operatives from the SBU's Special Operations Center, specifically the Alpha unit, executed strikes on three strategic locations inside the Russian Federation. Acting under directives from Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, they targeted the Yaroslavl-3 oil pumping station, a gas terminal in the port of Temryuk, and an FSB electronic intelligence center in Krasnodar Krai. This operation marks a significant escalation in Ukraine's ability to hit critical infrastructure deep within Russian territory.
Strategic Russian Assets Hit by the SBU:
- Yaroslavl-3 oil pumping station (Yaroslavl Oblast)
- Gas terminal at the port of Temryuk (Kuban region)
- FSB electronic intelligence center (Krasnodar Krai)
The Yaroslavl-3 station is a key component of the Baltic Pipeline System BTS-1, which supplies crude to the Slavneft-YANOS refinery and export terminals at the port of Primorsk. Following a drone attack, three crude oil storage tanks caught fire, with the blaze covering an area exceeding 5,000 square meters.
The strike on the Temryuk gas terminal ignited a fire at the site of the company Makren-Nafta. The flames engulfed a gas pipeline on the pier and terminal buildings where liquefied gas is transferred from railcars and tank containers to gas carrier vessels.
The third target was the 16th Center of the Russian FSB, which specializes in electronic intelligence. This command post in the Temryuk district of Krasnodar Krai was used to guide missiles and drones against Ukraine and to intercept signals from foreign satellites. The SBU drone attack disabled critical components of this facility.
This SBU operation highlights Ukraine's intensified response to Russian aggression, specifically targeting its critical infrastructure. Disabling these strategic assets could severely disrupt Russia's energy supply chains and degrade its military capabilities, potentially shifting the regional balance of power. Such actions also signal a new phase in the conflict, marked by increasingly sophisticated Ukrainian special operations on enemy territory.
This recent operation by the SBU underscores a broader strategy to undermine Russian military capabilities. For a detailed account of another significant strike targeting Russian fuel infrastructure, you can read more about the recent attack on an oil station and gas terminal here.
