Ukrainian Security Service Destroys Su-30 Fighter Jets at Saky Airbase in Crimea
Strike on the Saky Military Airfield
According to ХВИЛЯ: Ukraine's Security Service (SBU) carried out an attack on the Saky military airfield in Russian-occupied Crimea. The operation was part of a 40-day campaign designed to pressure Russia, conducted on the orders of President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. During the assault, five SBU drone strikes were confirmed to have hit aircraft hangars.
At the time of the attack, two hangars housed Su-30 and Su-30SM fighter jets. Following the strike, a fire broke out in the hangar containing the Su-30SM. Each Su-30SM aircraft is valued at an estimated 30 to 50 million dollars.
The Security Service of Ukraine commented on the operation: 'No hangars or shelters will help-the SBU will reach the enemy everywhere.'
This operation highlights an escalation in Ukrainian actions against Russian military aggression, particularly efforts to destroy enemy assets in occupied territories. The elimination of modern combat aircraft could significantly hinder Russia's ability to provide air support for its troops, a critical factor in the already tense regional situation.
