According to МЗС: Ukraine’s Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha is set to conduct official visits to the Republic of Korea and Japan from June 29 to July 2, 2026. These trips aim to strengthen political dialogue, expand economic ties, and secure backing for Ukraine’s efforts against Russian aggression and post-war reconstruction.
Itinerary and Key Engagements
On June 29–30, Minister Sybiha will be in South Korea. He plans to hold comprehensive talks with his Korean counterpart, Cho Hyun, covering the full scope of bilateral relations. A key focus will be rallying Seoul’s support to counter Russia’s armed aggression and aid in rebuilding Ukraine.
- During the visit, the minister will take part in a roundtable featuring leading Ukrainian and Korean businesses.
- He will meet with representatives from South Korean academic and research institutions.
- Sybiha will visit the only university in South Korea that offers courses in Ukrainian language and culture.
- A meeting with members of the Ukrainian diaspora in Korea is also on the agenda.
From June 30 to July 2, Andrii Sybiha will continue his journey to Japan. In Tokyo, he is scheduled to hold talks with the Speaker of the House of Representatives and the President of the House of Councillors of the Japanese Parliament, as well as the head of the Japan–Ukraine Parliamentary Friendship Association and Japan’s Foreign Minister. The minister will also speak at the Ukraine-Japan Energy Business Dialogue forum and participate in a roundtable with experts from the Japan Institute of International Affairs. Additionally, he will engage with the Ukrainian community in Japan.
These visits by Andrii Sybiha highlight how crucial international support is for Ukraine as it faces ongoing Russian aggression. By deepening political and economic dialogue with both nations, Ukraine aims to reinforce strategic partnerships vital to its recovery.
