Diplomatic Talks Between Kyiv and Tehran

According to ХВИЛЯ: Ukraine’s Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha held a phone conversation with his Iranian counterpart Abbas Araghchi, during which he rejected Tehran’s allegations concerning the death of an Iranian citizen and damage to a civilian vessel in a recent incident. Sybiha stressed that all Ukrainian actions are intended solely to defend the country against Russian aggression and were never directed at civilian ships or individuals.

The Ukrainian official placed full blame for the incident on Russia.

“Our objective is to counter Russian aggression, which is the primary cause of all resulting incidents. It is Russia that bears complete responsibility for every provocation and loss of life.”

He urged both sides to refrain from escalatory moves and to end any support for Moscow’s war against Ukraine.

The Ukrainian Ministry of Foreign Affairs also stated that Kyiv believes Europe and the Middle East deserve stability, security, and peace.
