According to ХВИЛЯ: In the early hours of September 10, Ukrainian Special Operations Forces successfully struck the oil-related infrastructure of Makhachkala’s seaport, a major Russian deep-water commercial hub on the Caspian Sea. President Volodymyr Zelensky confirmed that this port in Dagestan was among eight key Russian facilities targeted within a 24-hour period.

Makhachkala is Russia’s only year-round operational deep-water port on the Caspian, capable of servicing tankers with a capacity of up to 10,000 tons. Adjacent to the port lies an oil storage base, making it a vital node for energy logistics.
