Ukrainian Paralympians won 7 medals at the European Table Tennis Championship
The Ukrainian national table tennis team amazed everyone with their achievements at the European Championship in Helsingborg, Sweden, winning 7 awards. Ivan Mai and Lev Katz became gold medalists in the men's doubles class MD 18, Natalia Kosmina won silver in the individual 11 class event, and Vasyl Petruniv, Ivan Mai, Lev Katz, Valeriy Vlasenko, and Iryna Shynkarova received bronze.
Ukraine found itself in the top 10 of the overall medal standings of the European Youth Olympic Festival, finishing 10th with 5 gold, 8 silver, and 10 bronze medals.
Successes of Ukrainian athletes at the festival
Ukraine achieved the second-best result in the history of the festivals, starting the competitions in 1993. The team won the most medals in 2019 - a total of 25 awards. Judo turned out to be the most successful sport, where Ukrainian athletes won 6 medals.
In addition to judo, the aforementioned awards for Ukraine were won by athletes in the following sports: swimming, athletics, taekwondo, shooting, artistic gymnastics, and table tennis.
Successes of the Ukrainian team at the World Summer Universiade
The competitions at the World Summer Universiade in Germany concluded, where our athletes won 12 medals, including 4 gold, 3 silver, and 5 bronze. On the last day of the competitions, Mykola Rushchak became the bronze medalist in the 20-kilometer race walk.
In conclusion, Ukraine took 14th place in the overall medal standings of this universiade.
