Food Supply Failures Hit Multiple Ukrainian Brigades

According to Главком: Ukraine's Ministry of Defense has reported cases of insufficient food deliveries to frontline positions in the 30th, 128th, 108th, and 14th brigades. In response to these incidents, an investigation is underway in the 14th Separate Mechanized Brigade, where the commander has been removed from duty. Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrskyi has directed all group and corps commanders to conduct a full audit of supply provisions for troops along the contact line by May 20. This directive follows growing concerns about logistical failures affecting combat readiness.

Scope of the Problem and Fallout

The supply shortages have impacted the following units:

  • 30th Separate Mechanized Brigade
  • 128th Separate Mountain Assault Brigade
  • 108th Territorial Defense Brigade

The Ministry of Defense is working jointly with the General Staff to address these issues. In the 14th Separate Mechanized Brigade, an investigation by the Ground Forces commission revealed that the previous command of the 14th OMBr concealed the true state of affairs. As a result of this command's actions, some positions were lost. A specific incident of food supply failure at one position within the 14th OMBr has been documented. The official inquiry is nearing completion, and findings will be handed over to law enforcement. Following public exposure of the situation, troops in the 14th OMBr promptly received provisions.

“The situation in the 14th OMBr is telling: the Ground Forces commission is conducting an investigation, the brigade commander has been removed, and those responsible will be held accountable.” - Ministry of Defense of Ukraine

This case underscores the critical need for proper logistical support in military units, especially under combat conditions. Food shortages can severely undermine troop morale and their ability to carry out combat missions. The Ministry of Defense continues working to eliminate the identified problems and ensure all necessary resources reach frontline units.

The ongoing investigation into the 14th Separate Mechanized Brigade highlights severe shortcomings in military logistics, which have resulted in lost positions.
