According to ХВИЛЯ: Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrskyi, has announced a pathway for service members who left their units to voluntarily return to combat zones without facing punishment. This initiative is designed to allow those who abandoned their posts to reintegrate into their units and continue their service.

Special reserve battalions have been established to facilitate the return of these personnel to their original formations. Syrskyi emphasized that priority for reinforcement is being given to units operating on the most critical and active sections of the front line. This policy comes as Ukraine continues to defend against a full-scale Russian invasion, requiring the mobilization of all available personnel.

Legal Consequences and Return Opportunities

It is important to note that criminal proceedings are still being initiated against those who evade military service. Nevertheless, even individuals under investigation retain the option to return voluntarily. Statistics on unauthorized absences fluctuate in relation to the intensity of combat, reflecting the dynamic and challenging situation at the front.

This measure could significantly bolster the manpower of the Ukrainian Armed Forces amid ongoing hostilities.
