How much will pensions for people with disabilities of group 3 increase from December 1
From December 1, 2025, Ukrainians with disabilities of group 3 will receive pensions under special rules, which differ from the ordinary old-age pension. Payments are based on the decision of the medical and social expert commission and the required insurance experience. This is reported by UA.News.
The pension for this category is calculated according to a unified principle: the state determines what pension by age a person could receive with their current experience, and then appoints half of that amount. If the final amount is lower than the subsistence minimum for the disabled, the Pension Fund automatically adds the necessary supplement. As of November 2025, the subsistence minimum is 2361 UAH, so those who receive, for example, 2000 UAH, are paid an additional 361 UAH.
Pension for disability of group 3
The pension depends on several key factors:
- decision of the medical and social expert commission on establishing group 3
- insurance experience (from 1 to 15 years depending on the age of establishing disability)
- size of calculated age pension
- supplement to the subsistence minimum if the total amount is lower.
Additionally, small but important supplements are provided for vulnerable categories. A non-working pensioner with a minor child in care receives an additional 150 UAH per month. Single pensioners who do not receive financial assistance for care are entitled to a payment of 50 UAH.
Supplements and allowances: who will receive more from December
All supplements for people with disabilities of group 3 are regulated by Cabinet of Ministers Resolution No. 265, which provides for bringing the pension to the subsistence minimum and establishes a mechanism for additional allowances. Thanks to these norms, payments cannot fall below the guaranteed level.
The pension system for people with disabilities is built to take into account individual circumstances – the age of establishing disability, existing insurance experience, and social status. The Ministry of Social Policy emphasizes that the main goal is to ensure minimum support standards regardless of a person's previous income.
Earlier, we wrote that Ukrainians with disabilities will receive an additional 3100 UAH.
