According to glavcom.ua: Dmytro Khilyuk, a Ukrainian who endured Russian captivity, shared details about the conditions of detention and the experiences of prisoners. The main issue in captivity, according to him, was hunger, which became a constant companion of the people. They tried to stretch food to the maximum, and physical violence was used in a way that left no traces. The health condition of prisoners after release leaves much to be desired, especially dental problems, and the lack of systemic rehabilitation complicates the adaptation process.

Ukrainians in Russian prisons face an urgent need to improve detention conditions and ensure proper rehabilitation after release. It is necessary to create a coordination mechanism to support released prisoners and their successful reintegration into society.
