Snowfall and Ice Conditions on December 29: Which Route Has Traffic Restrictions

Weather Situation in Ukraine

According to Міністерство інфраструктури: On December 29, 2025, unfavorable weather conditions are observed in Ukraine, including snowfall and ice. In connection with this, from 06:00 a traffic restriction for all vehicles has been imposed on the section of road R-24 Tatariv-Kamenets-Podilsky (164-170 km).

Snow Cover in Different Regions

In Zhytomyr and Cherkasy regions, snowfall has led to significant snow cover, reaching up to 30 cm. In Ternopil region, up to 15 cm of snow has fallen, while in Lviv, Chernivtsi, and Chernihiv regions, the snow level is up to 8 cm. Less snow has been recorded in Zakarpattia and Sumy regions, where up to 5 cm has fallen.

Road surfaces on many routes are wet, and in places, there is ice, complicating vehicle movement. Traffic disruptions have also been noted on the road T-02-3 Turbiv – Pogribishche – Skvyra (km 0–43) in Vinnytsia region. A total of 1361 units of equipment and 1649 workers are involved in combating the consequences of bad weather.

Air temperatures range from -5 to +3 °C. The average temperature is between -4 and -1 °C, with southern areas ranging from -2 to +1 °C. Gusts of northwestern wind reach 15-20 m/s. At night, temperatures may drop to -1 to -9°C, while during the day, they will fluctuate from -7°C to +10°C.

The situation on the roads remains complicated, and drivers are advised to be careful and adhere to traffic restrictions.
