What needs to be done to receive a pension from Ukraine in Poland
Ukrainians who permanently reside in Poland can receive their assigned pension from Ukraine to a Polish bank account. To do this, one needs to apply to ZUS, confirm their place of residence, and provide the account details in euros. About this, writes InPoland.
How to transfer the Ukrainian pension to Poland through ZUS
Payments are regulated by the Agreement between Ukraine and Poland on social security dated May 18, 2012. It allows pensioners after moving to apply to the Polish Social Insurance Institution for the transfer of their already assigned pension.
The main document is application ETR-U. It is submitted to ZUS, but the final decision on the transfer of payments is made by the Pension Fund of Ukraine.
The following documents must be attached to the application:
-
Ukrainian citizen passport;
-
taxpayer identification number;
-
residence card, Polish identity card, or document on UKR PESEL status;
-
a certificate from a Polish bank with the IBAN account details in euros.
After approval, the pension will be transferred in euros to the specified Polish account. The amount of payment will be determined according to Ukrainian legislation. Certain age compensation allowances may not be taken into account in such transfers.
How to confirm the right to a pension in Poland
Pension payments will be made quarterly on the condition that the recipient is confirmed to be alive. The relevant document must be sent to the Pension Fund of Ukraine annually by December 31.
The application "Confirmation of the person's being alive" must be certified by the Polish social insurance authority, a notary, or a Ukrainian diplomatic institution.
If the confirmation is not submitted in time, the pension transfer may be stopped from the first quarter of the following year. To resume payments, the pensioner will have to undergo identification and submit the necessary documents.

How to arrange a pension for Ukrainian work experience in Poland
If the retirement age has come after moving, a person can apply to ZUS for the appointment of payments taking into account the insurance period acquired in Ukraine.
In such cases, one must submit application PL-UA 7, a passport, a tax number, and an employment record book. Other documents confirming the work experience, including a military ID or a diploma from full-time education, will also be required.
Applying to ZUS simplifies the data exchange between Polish and Ukrainian institutions. A person does not need to submit an application separately to each authority: documents are transferred within the bilateral social security system.
It should be noted that in Poland, they want to impose 30-year imprisonment for violations in the army.
