Social Solutions and Reform of the Government Apparatus: Zelensky Met with Shmyhal
The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, held a meeting with Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal, during which they discussed the update of the system of state support for Ukrainians and strategic directions for the country's development in wartime conditions.
The government has prepared a comprehensive update of state support for citizens, in particular, the modernization of child birth payments and increased support for mothers during the first years after the child's birth. Detailed information about the new social initiatives will be published by the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine tomorrow.
Among the key achievements this year is the implementation of the 'school package' initiative, thanks to which nearly 180,000 Ukrainian families will receive state funds to prepare their children for the school year. Financial support has also been ensured for organizing free meals in schools for students in grades 1-4 throughout Ukraine.
In frontline territories, free meals are being introduced for all children from first to last grade. 'No matter how hard it is, government workers are finding resources for socially significant solutions,' emphasized the president.
Zelensky announced the preparation of a large-scale managerial transformation of the government apparatus, which will significantly reduce the costs of maintaining the apparatus, simplify processes, and direct resources towards the defense of the country and citizens.
As part of this transformation, it is planned to define the future configuration of executive power with the aim of optimizing the work of state institutions and redistributing resources for defense needs.
The Ukrainian president, together with the government, is working on updating the system of state support for citizens, implementing social initiatives, and managerial transformation for more effective operation of government institutions.
