Ukraine is expecting a visit from a high-level US delegation to Kyiv as early as April, which could provide a new impetus for peace negotiations with the Russian Federation. Bloomberg reports.

The potential visit involves US special representatives Steven Vitkoff and Jared Kushner, as well as Republican Senator Lindsey Graham. According to the head of the President's Office, Kyrylo Budanov, the delegation may arrive shortly after Orthodox Easter, which this year falls on April 12.

Visit of the US Delegation to Kyiv: Who May Come

According to preliminary information, the delegation may include:

  • Steven Vitkoff, US Special Representative

  • Jared Kushner, son-in-law of Donald Trump

  • Lindsey Graham, Republican Senator.

Previously, Vitkoff and Kushner had already visited Russia and conducted negotiations with Vladimir Putin. If the trip to Kyiv takes place, it will be their first visit to Ukraine.

President Volodymyr Zelensky had previously invited American negotiators without specifying the timeline. He also did not rule out that after Kyiv, the delegation might head to Moscow.

Negotiations Ukraine US: What is on the Agenda

Kyiv seeks clear security guarantees from the US within a potential agreement to end the war. The Ukrainian side insists on maintaining the current front line, while Russia demands the withdrawal of Ukrainian troops from the Donetsk region, including territories it does not control.

Possible options being discussed include the creation of a special economic zone that would not be under the control of either side.

Kyrylo Budanov stated that Ukraine has already made progress on security guarantees and expects further developments following the visit of the US delegation.

At the same time, there is no official confirmation of the trip yet - Washington notes that it is still being discussed.

The negotiation process between Ukraine and Russia continues with the mediation of the US, but the parties remain far from a compromise. Previous talks scheduled in the UAE for early March were postponed.

Separately, Budanov reported that Ukraine is receiving signals from partners regarding a possible cessation of strikes on Russian oil refineries amidst rising global oil prices due to the conflict surrounding Iran.

Hostilities between Ukraine and Russia continue: the Russian Federation attacks energy and transport infrastructure while Ukraine focuses its strikes on oil refining facilities, fertilizers, and military industries.

It is worth noting that Erdogan proposed peace negotiations in Istanbul in April 2026.
