On the case of Yermak at the VAKS: Zheleznyak told what he expects from the final court decision
People's Deputy Yaroslav Zheleznyak stated that in the case regarding the preventive measure for Andriy Yermak, the authorities will likely find funds for the bail of 140 million UAH. According to him, NABU and SAP have already collected 16 volumes of materials and prepared a large evidence base.
The case of Yermak at the VAKS: what Zheleznyak said
According to the deputy, on May 14, the High Anti-Corruption Court was supposed to announce a decision regarding the preventive measure for Andriy Yermak, provided that the hearing is not postponed due to an air alert.
Zheleznyak suggested that the court may either set bail or change the preventive measure to custody. At the same time, he hardly believes in the scenario with the pre-trial detention center.
In the deputy's opinion, even if the bail amount remains at level of 180 million UAH, they would find a way for Yermak to pay it.
Zheleznyak also stated that NABU and SAP have collected 16 volumes of evidence, among which are personal correspondence, materials regarding the financing of house construction, and fragments of the so-called 'black accounting.'
NABU and SAP reportedly investigate several sources of financing
In the video, the deputy suggested that part of the closed hearings might have involved other sources of financing or additional figures in the case.
He also mentioned a possible connection between certain episodes with the 'Chigivara' project and the history around 'Energoatom.'
Separately, Zheleznyak pointed out that the investigation is being conducted regarding a group of individuals. In his opinion, this creates risks for other figures who could potentially make a deal with the investigation.
A long trial is anticipated in Yermak's case
The deputy believes that the examination of the case may take two to three years, and in the event of a guilty verdict, the punishment could range from 8 to 12 years of imprisonment.
At the same time, he emphasized that the final decision regarding the preventive measure and the prospects of the case would be made solely by the court.
In the video, Zheleznyak also ironically commented on Yermak's public defense and mentioned a story about the 'astrological consultant,' which had previously been discussed in the media.
As of now, there is no official verdict or court decision in the case. However, the story has already become one of the loudest anti-corruption topics of May 2026 and is actively discussed in political and media circles.
Let us remind you that Yaroslav Zheleznyak also stated that in the government's proposed changes to the state budget for 2026, there is again not enough funds for the army's needs and for raising military salaries.
