U.S. and Israeli Actions Regarding Iran

According to ХВИЛЯ: American and Israeli authorities are considering deploying special forces units into Iran with the objective of seizing stockpiles of highly enriched uranium and other nuclear fuel. This discussion is taking place in the later stages of the ongoing conflict, and the operation is only planned to proceed once the allies are confident that Iranian military forces do not pose a significant threat. Such a mission would represent a dramatic escalation in efforts to curb Iran's nuclear program, which has long been a source of international concern.

Among the potential targets is the capture of Iran's Kharg Island in the Persian Gulf, home to a strategically vital oil terminal that handles approximately 90% of the nation's crude oil exports. U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio addressed the situation during a congressional briefing on March 3rd, stating:

“Somebody is going to have to go and get it” – Marco Rubio

U.S. President Donald Trump confirmed American readiness for such actions in an interview on March 2nd, asserting that “the United States could send ground troops into Iran if necessary.” According to the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), Iran is estimated to possess roughly 440 kilograms of uranium enriched to 60%. Theoretically, this quantity is sufficient for the creation of up to 11 nuclear warheads following further enrichment.

Controlling Iran's Nuclear Potential

Intelligence suggests the majority of these stockpiles are concealed within underground tunnel complexes located in Isfahan, Fordow, and Natanz. It is known that U.S. and Israeli forces previously attacked the entrances to these tunnels in the early days of the war, underscoring the seriousness of the situation and the allies' determination to control Iran's nuclear potential.

The actions under consideration by the U.S. and Israel highlight escalating regional tensions and the allies' drive to counter the nuclear threat posed by Iran. Given the strategic importance of Iran's uranium reserves for its nuclear ambitions, coupled with the potential impact on global oil markets, the planned operations could have profound consequences not only for regional security but also for the world economy. The situation remains fluid, and further steps could significantly alter the balance of power in the Middle East.
