FIBA has announced a new qualification system for the 2028 Olympics: how to qualify for 3x3 basketball

According to glavcom.ua: The International Basketball Federation (FIBA) has established a qualification system for participation in the 3x3 basketball tournament at the 2028 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles. National teams will have the opportunity to qualify both through rankings and through qualifying tournaments.

In addition to the automatic participation of the USA team, other spots will be distributed according to the rankings of national teams and regional quotas. Six additional spots will also be contested at qualifying tournaments.

The national team of Ukraine has already shown a good result in the qualifying matches for the 2027 World Championship. After a victory over Georgia, the Ukrainian team occupies one of the leading positions in its group.
