Powerful Storm Strikes Minnesota

According to Главком: A severe storm system swept through the U.S. state of Minnesota, unleashing dangerous weather phenomena including large hail, torrential rain, and tornadoes. Hailstones in some areas reached a diameter of 7-8 centimeters. The largest hail was reported in Rice County, where stones the size of chicken eggs and golf balls fell in the city of Faribault. In Cannon Falls, hail was comparable in size to a ping-pong ball. The cleanup in Faribault required the use of specialized heavy machinery.

Tornado Activity and Emergency Warnings

At least one tornado was confirmed in southern Minnesota. Eyewitnesses captured a powerful funnel cloud near the communities of Truman and Amboy in Blue Earth County. Furthermore, video footage emerged online of another tornado in the Hartland area. The distance between Hartland and Truman is approximately 80-100 kilometers. Local residents received emergency alerts urging them to seek immediate shelter in basements or the lowest levels of their buildings.

This storm system presented a serious challenge for Minnesotans, who are likely facing property damage and infrastructure repairs. The U.S. National Weather Service had issued prior warnings for the potential of severe weather, highlighting the critical need for public readiness in future events. Situations like this are not uncommon in the U.S. Midwest during the spring and summer storm season. Authorities are currently monitoring the situation and assessing the full extent of the damage caused by the severe weather.
