Ukraine joined the AI Convention: what will change for the courts
Ukraine has joined global initiatives for regulating artificial intelligence in justice, but the country still lacks clear rules, as is the case worldwide, said Marina Barsuk, the judge-speaker of the Northern Appeals Economic Court.
Marina Barsuk recalled that Ukraine joined the Council of Europe's Framework Convention on Artificial Intelligence, but there are currently no domestic regulatory acts on this issue.
Practical experience in Ukraine with the use of artificial intelligence
According to Judge Barsuk, there is already some practical experience in Ukraine in the use of algorithms thanks to the Unified Judicial Information and Telecommunications System and electronic document management.
She cited examples where participants in court proceedings use algorithmic applications to provide explanations, motions, and even evidence generated by artificial intelligence.
