Suspicion against the head of the Mykolaiv Regional TCC and SP

According to 5 канал: The Central District Court of Mykolaiv has chosen a preventive measure for the head of the Mykolaiv Regional TCC and SP in the form of detention for 60 days. The official was detained on August 13 while receiving 10 thousand dollars to prevent the mobilization of three conscripts, remove them from the search in the 'Oberih' system, and create conditions for their further reservation at work. Judge Olesya Deminska determined the bail at 1400 living minimums, amounting to 4 million 659 thousand 200 hryvnias.

Prosecutor Andriy Chornyi requested to take the suspect into custody due to risks of hiding, influencing witnesses, and obstructing the investigation. The prosecutor also requested to set the bail at 1500 living minimums, amounting to 992 thousand hryvnias. In case of posting bail, the prosecutor demanded that the suspect be obliged not to leave the borders of Mykolaiv and to inform about any change of residence. Lawyer Volodymyr Tymoshyn asked to take into account the property status of the suspect and considered the proposed bail amount excessive. The suspect does not admit his guilt.

The second episode of the criminal proceedings

This case is already the second recorded episode within the criminal proceedings. Earlier, law enforcement documented that the official received another 5 thousand dollars. On August 14, the head of the Mykolaiv Regional TCC and SP was informed of the suspicion under the article for accepting proposals, promises, or receiving undue benefits by a public official. The penalty for this article provides for up to 10 years of imprisonment with confiscation of property.

Law enforcement also reported suspicion against 76 TCC leaders of various levels. Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, 428 proceedings regarding illegal evasion of service, forged medical conclusions, and exit schemes abroad have been investigated, of which 105 have been referred to court. The court fined a TCC representative 17 thousand hryvnias for the lack of continuous video recording.

This case highlights the seriousness of the corruption problem in Ukraine's defense system, especially in the context of mobilization during wartime.
