Court extends preventive measure for Shufrych: bail of 33.2 million UAH and charges of treason

According to Главком: The Shevchenkivskyi District Court of Kyiv has extended the preventive measure for people's deputy Nestor Shufrych, who is accused of treason. This preventive measure will now last until March 13, 2024. The court also set bail in the amount of 33.2 million hryvnias, which was determined by the Kyiv Court of Appeal on January 6, 2024.
Charges and their consequences
Nestor Shufrych was suspected of treason back in September 2023. According to the case materials, Shufrych allegedly cooperated with Volodymyr Sivkovych, who fled to Moscow in 2014. It is also known that in 2016, a company owned by Shufrych paid 500 thousand Russian rubles for security in Crimea. On September 15, 2023, Shufrych was taken to the detention center of the Security Service of Ukraine.
Shufrych's lawyers plan to appeal the court's decision regarding the preventive measure and the amount of bail. The case will continue to be considered within the established deadlines.
