The court rejected the defense's motion in the corruption case at 'Energoatom'
Rejection of the lawyers' motion
According to Главком: The High Anti-Corruption Court rejected the motion of lawyers Timur Mindich and Oleksandr Tsukerman regarding their participation in the court proceedings via video conference. This decision was made despite the defense's intention to provide explanations regarding their innocence in the corruption case at 'Energoatom'. Judge Ihor Strohiy, who considered this issue, rejected the motion concerning the lawyers' participation in the court session.
Continuation of pre-trial investigation
In addition, the meeting considered the detectives' request to extend the term of the pre-trial investigation from two to 12 months. The court partially satisfied this request, extending the pre-trial investigation to 9 months. The suspicion in the case was notified to Timur Mindich and other individuals on November 10-11, 2025.
The list of individuals who were notified of suspicion includes:
- Timur Mindich
- Ihor Myroniuk
- Dmytro Basov
- Oleksandr Tsukerman
- Ihor Fursenko
- Lesya Ustyumenko
- Ludmila Zorina
- Oleksiy Chernyshov
Lawyer Oleksandr Hotin noted that according to Article 6 of the European Convention on Human Rights and Article 63 of the Constitution of Ukraine, any person charged has the right to defense and access to justice.
This case has a significant impact on the fight against corruption in Ukraine, as 'Energoatom' is a key player in the country's energy sector. The rejection of the lawyers' motion for participation in the session may indicate the court's strict approach to procedural issues. The continuation of the pre-trial investigation for 9 months also confirms the seriousness of the charges, which could have far-reaching consequences for the figures involved in this case. Thus, the process has the potential to influence the reputation and stability of the energy sector in Ukraine.
