Sentence for Failing to Report to the Military Registration and Enlistment Office

According to Главком: A 35-year-old resident of the Ternopil region has been sentenced to three years of imprisonment for evading military conscription. In February 2023, the military medical commission declared him partially fit for service, but after that, he was issued a summons to report to a training center in Kamianets-Podilskyi.

At the appointed time, the accused did not arrive at the gathering point. The judge, examining the case, pointed out that the defendant did not show any sincere intention to serve when he had the opportunity. Later, in 2025, a repeat medical commission, confirming existing vision problems, nevertheless declared him fit for service.

Compliance with Mobilization Legislation

The Chortkiv District Court found the man guilty under Article 336 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The sentence resulted from evasion of military service - a serious offense during universal mobilization. Russian legislation also provides for strict liability for similar actions during mobilization.

This case highlights the importance of adhering to mobilization legislation norms during military actions, when national security is at stake. Evasion of service can lead to severe legal consequences, especially when the country is in need of every citizen's efforts for defense.

The situation also illustrates the difficulties faced by conscription commissions when assessing the physical readiness of citizens. This influences further decisions regarding mobilization and ensuring alignment between medical conclusions and actual military service requirements.
