Verdict of the Khorol District Court

According to Главком: The Khorol District Court of the Poltava region issued a verdict against a military conscript who did not appear at the territorial recruitment center after receiving a summons. The accused, who has three minor children, was deemed fit for service in the Armed Forces of Ukraine after undergoing a military medical commission.

The man admitted his guilt in court, and his actions were classified under Article 336 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The court imposed a sentence of three years of imprisonment but released him from serving the actual sentence. A probation period for the accused was set for two years.

Appealing the Verdict

The verdict may be appealed within 30 days. In addition, in another case, the Osnovyansky District Court of Kharkiv issued a verdict against a soldier who refused to perform combat duty.

The verdict issued by the Khorol District Court underscores the importance of fulfilling military duty under conditions of martial law in Ukraine. Failure to comply with summonses and refusal to serve can have serious consequences, not only for the conscripts themselves but also for national security.

The situation with military conscripts may become the subject of broader legal analysis over time, especially in the context of protecting the rights of families who may suffer from the consequences of such decisions.
