A Key Player on the Frontline: 'Shustry' Reflects on His Journey from Robotyne to Pokrovske

According to Radiotrek — Світ: Serhiy, known by his call sign 'Shustry,' serves as a driver within a special operations company of the National Guard unit based in Varash. His combat experience spans multiple locations, beginning with infantry duties near Robotyne in Zaporizhzhia. Later, he transitioned to the Pokrovske sector, where he took on the role of an armored vehicle driver. After completing his first contract in 2012, Serhiy spent four and a half years as a civilian before rejoining the military.

When the full-scale invasion began, Serhiy was on duty guarding a critical government facility. He recalls,

"At the start of the invasion, my unit was tasked with protecting a vital state installation, and I was on post."

During combat operations in the Pokrovske area, Serhiy operated a variety of vehicles, including armored cars, buggies, and light-duty transports. He particularly favors buggies for their speed and agility.

Facing danger firsthand, Serhiy admits,

"There’s always tension-100 percent fear and anxiety. I've experienced it all."

He estimates completing around 86 combat missions in the Pokrovske sector. On one such mission to Myrnohrad, his crew delivered supplies and assisted with unit rotations under enemy fire, with hostile explosions damaging their vehicle nearby.

Serhiy emphasizes that successful missions depend heavily on teamwork rather than just the driver's skills:

"Much depends not on the driver alone, but on how well the entire crew works together."
