Ukrainian tennis player Elina Svitolina has reached the semifinals of the Australian Open for the first time in her career. In the quarterfinal match, she confidently defeated American Coco Gauff, who ranks third in the world. This is reported by the official website of the Australian Open.
The match was under full control of the Ukrainian. In the first set, Svitolina broke her opponent's serve three times and won the set 6:1. In the second set, the scenario did not change - the Ukrainian again dominated on the court and sealed the match with a 6:2 victory, securing her place in the Grand Slam tournament semifinals.
