Tymoshenko and the volunteer clashed in a dispute over prosthetics: details of the conflict
During a meeting of the interdepartmental working group on state prosthetics, a sharp discussion took place between Yulia Tymoshenko and the volunteer of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleg Symyroza. The dispute concerned draft law No. 13704, which proposes the abolition of price limits on prosthetics. Oleg Symyroza believes that this draft law could create risks for damage to the state budget due to possible price inflation, and called for a detailed resolution of pricing policy to avoid corruption risks.Yulia Tymoshenko claims that the draft law is aimed at improving access for Ukrainians to modern prosthetics, but also agreed that it is necessary to work out the pricing policy in detail and monitor expenses. The discussion also highlighted the problems of bureaucratization of the process and carrying out reforms without real improvements for patients.Until now, combatants who needed high-functional prosthetics were forced to undergo mandatory primary prosthetics and wait at least a year before receiving a modern prosthesis. This complicated the adaptation process to new prosthetics, especially for soldiers with high or double amputations. Now, the initiators of the draft law hope to improve access to modern prosthetics and correct existing shortcomings in the prosthetics system.
