According to Главком: Timur Tkachenko, head of Kyiv's City Military Administration, has called on the city's residents to help stray animals survive the harsh winter months. Providing support for these vulnerable creatures, who face the dual threats of freezing temperatures and starvation, is now critically important.

Tkachenko stressed that even a small act of kindness can save an animal's life. Environmental experts advise Kyivans to leave nutritious food in accessible locations, which can significantly improve the chances of survival for strays. The most suitable foods for dogs and cats are:

• dry pet food;
• warm porridge.

It is equally crucial to note that bones should never be given, as they can cause serious internal injuries to the animals.
