Celebrating Ukrainian Language on Wikipedia

According to Рубрика — Суспільство: From October 1 to 25, the Ukrainian Wikipedia community is hosting a dedicated event focused on the Ukrainian language. During this period, editors are encouraged to write and enhance articles related to the Ukrainian language and its rich literary heritage. This initiative is supported by Ukraine's Ministry of Culture as well as the organizations Wikimedia Ukraine and Creative Elite of Ukraine. A special emphasis this year is placed on literary works included in the national school curriculum.

Focus Areas of the Ukrainian Language Week

The event covers a broad range of linguistic topics, including:

• spelling
• phonetics
• syntax
• history of Ukrainian orthography
• dialects
• slang
• neologisms

Additionally, articles on Ukrainian literature are a key part of the campaign, featuring profiles of authors, their works, and literature from different regions of Ukraine. All registered Wikipedia users, including newcomers, are invited to contribute.

Participants who create or significantly improve at least three articles will be rewarded with souvenirs, letters of appreciation, diplomas, or certificates. Contributions must be logged using the special tag {{Тиждень-мови-26}} on the article’s talk page. This event offers a valuable opportunity to engage the public in enriching Ukrainian linguistics and literary content on Wikipedia.
