Martin Dúbravka Moves to Tottenham Hotspur

According to Главком: Goalkeeper Martin Dúbravka has joined London club Tottenham Hotspur. This marks Spurs' fourth signing of the summer, following the additions of three defenders: Andy Robertson, Marcos Senesi, and Jan-Paul van Hecke. Dúbravka arrives at no cost, as he will become a free agent on July 1 after leaving Burnley, which was relegated from the English Premier League following the 2025/26 season.

Dúbravka's Premier League Career

Tottenham is Dúbravka's fourth club in the Premier League, having previously played for Manchester United and Newcastle United. Over his career in England's top division, he has made 197 appearances, including 35 matches in the last campaign. During those games, he conceded 71 goals but kept four clean sheets, bringing his total to 51 shutouts in the Premier League.

Meanwhile, Kasper Schmeichel, the surprise 2016 English champion, has announced his retirement due to health issues. Additionally, former England midfielder Jonjo Shelvey has also ended his playing career, with his last club being Arabian Falcons in the UAE. Following his retirement, Shelvey has taken over as head coach of Arabian Falcons.

The transfer of Martin Dúbravka to Tottenham highlights the club's aggressive summer reinforcement strategy, particularly in seeking new goalkeeping options after a disappointing season for the team.

This could open up new opportunities for young talents at clubs looking to refresh their squads.

As Tottenham continues to bolster its squad this summer, the recent acquisition of Dúbravka follows their significant investment in defensive talent.
