Dusko Vujošević Passes Away

According to Главком: Dusko Vujošević, the former head coach of the Serbian basketball club Partizan, died on April 8, 2026, at the age of 67. Vujošević made a major impact on European basketball during his tenure leading Partizan from 2001 to 2010. Under his guidance, the team secured five championships in Serbia and Montenegro, and later won four Serbian national titles consecutively from 2006 to 2010. He also led the club to five Adriatic League victories.

In the 2009/2010 season, Vujošević was named the EuroLeague Coach of the Year, a season in which Partizan made its historic first appearance in the EuroLeague Final Four. Earlier in his career, in 1988, he coached the Yugoslavian junior national team to a European Championship (U18) title and later led the Serbia and Montenegro national team at EuroBasket 2003. His final coaching role was with the Romanian club Cluj from 2019 to 2021.

Wimmer died at the scene, while her passenger was injured and hospitalized. The 56-year-old truck driver was unharmed.

He served as an officer in the 1st Combat Group of the 4th Special Purpose Group of Ukraine's National Guard and was killed in the Pokrovsk direction of the Donetsk region.
