Trump gives a gloomy forecast about the war in Ukraine
Trump predicts a prolonged end to the war in Donbas
U.S. President Donald Trump believes that Russia's war against Ukraine will not end quickly and will take a long time. He stated this in an interview with the YouTube channel Pod Force One with Miranda Devine.
'For Putin, Ukraine is like the apple of his eye,' - noted Trump.
The U.S. leader emphasized that Russia expected a quick victory but became entangled in a prolonged war that has lasted for over three years. Rapid losses on both sides lead to human casualties and the destruction of families.
'I don't like to think this way, but all of this could have been easily resolved - and it will take a lot more time,' - added Trump.
He also noted that the costs of American weapons for Ukraine are now being transferred to Europe, which he called a 'good deal' with NATO.
During the interview, U.S. President Donald Trump expressed the opinion that the conflict in Donbas will last a long time since Russia did not plan for such a prolonged war. He also pointed to the shift of costs for American weapons for Ukraine to European countries as a positive step towards supporting security in the region.
