After Iran, Trump Says Ukraine War Will Be His Next Focus
Trump and Macron Meet at G7 Summit
According to ХВИЛЯ: During a G7 summit meeting with French President Emmanuel Macron, U.S. President Donald Trump stated his intention to turn his attention to the war in Ukraine once the situation with Iran is resolved. Trump reported that 25,000 people, mostly soldiers, are dying each month and noted that both leaders-Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Vladimir Putin-appear open to finding a solution.
Trump held phone conversations with the presidents of Ukraine and Russia, commenting:
“Yesterday I had very good talks with President Zelenskyy and President Putin. And I think, maybe, we can do something on this issue as well. I believe both are open to it.”
He also expressed hope that once the Iran matter is concluded, the U.S. can shift its focus to Ukraine.
“Let’s see if we can make something happen; both leaders seem ready to address this,”
Trump said.
Iran Agreement and Its Implications
Additionally, Trump announced that an agreement with Iran will be signed in Switzerland. He also stated that the Strait of Hormuz is partially open and will be fully operational by Friday. Trump emphasized that no tolls will be imposed on vessels passing through the strait and noted that while the U.S. does not require assistance, it would welcome one or two ships from a few countries arriving in the area. Vice President JD Vance will sign the agreement with Iran. U.S. military personnel are currently searching for several mines in the Strait of Hormuz.
Trump’s remarks suggest a potential escalation of diplomatic efforts to resolve the conflict in Ukraine, which could have significant implications for regional stability and security. At the same time, finalizing the Iran deal may shift the dynamics of international relations, as it is closely tied to global security-particularly regarding energy supplies through the Strait of Hormuz. Observers are noting how these two issues could intersect in U.S. diplomatic initiatives.
As the U.S. seeks to finalize its agreement with Iran, the outcomes of this diplomatic effort could significantly influence the situation in Ukraine. Understanding the implications of the recent deal with Iran and the end of the naval blockade may shed light on how international relations are evolving and what it means for ongoing conflicts.
