New MRI machines in Ukraine

According to Міністерство Здоров'я: Three cities in Ukraine received new MRI machines with a power of 1.5 Tesla for medical facilities in Kyiv, Kropyvnytskyi, and Zaporizhzhia. The equipment was purchased in 2024 with funds from the state budget. The purchase was made by the state enterprise Medical Procurements of Ukraine on behalf of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine. These deliveries are final within the batch bought under the procurement program.

Installation of equipment

The new equipment has already been installed in:

• Institute of Traumatology and Orthopedics of the National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine
• City hospital of emergency medical aid in Kropyvnytskyi
• City hospital of emergency and urgent aid in Zaporizhzhia

All three medical institutions received Signa Champion systems produced by GE Siemens Healthcare GmbH.

The state enterprise Medical Procurements of Ukraine purchased 33 MRI machines with magnetic field strengths of 1.5 and 3 Tesla in 2023-2024. In 2025, as part of the same program, the purchase of another 16 MRI machines with a power of 1.5 Tesla is planned. These measures are aimed at improving the medical infrastructure in Ukraine and ensuring modern diagnostic technologies.

These new MRI machines will provide the ability to perform more accurate and faster diagnostic procedures, which is especially important in the context of improving the quality of medical services in Ukraine. The purchase of equipment under the state program indicates the government's efforts to modernize medical infrastructure and improve public access to modern diagnostic technologies.
